About Vedansha

Purification of the body is an important and deep process essential for health and wellness. Vedansha - The Institute of Vedic Science and Alternative Medicine, Rishikesh is committed to providing you deep Ayurvedic purification of the body based on the philosophy of Yoga and Panchakarma (five actions).

The Institute is founded by 7th generation Himalayan yogi, Dr. Sanjeev Pandey Ji who has more than 35 years of teaching experience in inspiring people to create a natural flow of happiness and experiment with different dimensions of Yoga and Ayurveda. 31 Days Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Retreat


Panchakarma is a cleansing and rejuvenating process for the body, mind, and consciousness. It helps bring all 3 doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha in balance and harmony for perfect health and well-being. The sole purpose of Panchakarma therapy is to eliminate toxins and wastes, purify body and mind, improve immune system and resistance to illness, help restore metabolic fire and stimulate anti-ageing effect.

Each body constitution is different and before beginning this 31 Days Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Retreat, an Ayurveda doctor is provided by the Institute for an initial consultation. The various Yoga Asanas are also according to the traditional Vedic program and the students are recommended to get proper rest after each Ayurvedic treatment.

  Program Details

The 31 Days Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Retreat starts with a consultation from a highly qualified Ayurvedic physician (BMS). The doctor will analyze the body constitution, disease structure, health state, pulse, tongue, eyes, hands diagnosis, and provide a suitable method of detox therapy. Every day each student will get specific Ayurvedic treatment. Panchakarma is divided into 3 parts according to the health condition of each client: 

Poorvakarma - Preparation:

  • A special mix of cleansing herbs
  • Special detox beverages
  • Daily Ayurvedic full body massage with Swedana (steam bath)

Panchakarma:

  • Vamana (medicated and controlled emesis given with Ayurvedic decoctions)
  • Virechana (medicated and controlled purgation)
  • Basti (medicated herbal enema)
  • Shirodhara (oil head treatment)
  • Udvartana, Potali, Pizhil - special Ayurvedic complete body massage (different from preparation period)
  • Kati and Manya Basti, Shirobasti, AkshiTarpanam, Karna Purna - special local therapy with warm oil (if suggested)
  • Nasya - Oleation of the nasal cavity for respiratory tract treatment
  • Special Ayurvedic menu and beverages
